Overview
CashN (“the App”) is a shift earnings tracker developed by Angelo Montil (“we,” “us,” or “our”). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data the App collects, how it is stored, and your rights regarding that data.
The short version: CashN stores your data locally on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or sell your personal information to anyone. There are no analytics, no tracking, and no advertising in the App.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Data You Provide
When you use CashN, you enter the following information directly into the App:
- Work data: Hourly pay rate, shift start and end times, shift notes, and rate profile labels
- Preferences: Currency selection, weekly earnings goal, theme, accent color, and notification settings
- Profile information: Rate profile names and associated colors
1.2 Data the App Calculates
The App derives the following from your input:
- Shift duration and total earnings
- Weekly and daily earnings totals
- Personal best records, work streaks, and goal progress
1.3 Data We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any account credentials
- We do not collect device identifiers or fingerprints
- We do not collect location data
- We do not use analytics, crash reporting, or telemetry services
- We do not use advertising networks or tracking pixels
2. How Your Data Is Stored
2.1 On-Device Storage
All data you enter into CashN is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework (backed by SQLite) and UserDefaults. This includes shift records, rate profiles, and your preferences.
Your data is protected by the security features built into iOS and your device passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID.
2.2 iCloud Sync (Optional)
If you are signed into iCloud on your device, CashN may sync your shift and profile data across your Apple devices using Apple's CloudKit service. This sync is:
- Managed entirely by Apple — we do not operate any servers
- Encrypted in transit by Apple's infrastructure
- Tied to your personal iCloud account — we cannot access it
- Optional — you can view your iCloud sync status in the App's Settings under Data
To disable iCloud sync for CashN, you can turn off iCloud for the App in your device's Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > Apps Using iCloud.
2.3 App Group Shared Container
CashN shares limited data between the main App, its Home Screen widgets, and the Apple Watch companion app using an on-device App Group container. This data never leaves your device and includes:
- Active shift status and hourly rate
- Today's earnings summary
- Weekly earnings data for chart widgets
- Pro upgrade status
2.4 Apple Watch
If you use the CashN Apple Watch app, shift data is synced directly between your iPhone and Apple Watch using Apple's WatchConnectivity framework over Bluetooth. This is a direct device-to-device connection. No data passes through external servers.
Data synced to the Watch includes rate profiles, active shift status, recent shift history, and your preferences. The Watch can also record shifts offline and sync them to your iPhone when the devices reconnect.
3. Data You Export
CashN provides user-initiated export features:
- CSV Export (free): You can export your shift history as a CSV file. The file is generated locally and shared via the iOS share sheet. We do not receive a copy.
- Full Backup (Pro): You can export a complete backup of your data as a .cashn file. The file is generated locally and shared via the iOS share sheet. We do not receive a copy.
- Share Card: You can create a visual earnings card to share. The image is generated locally and shared via the iOS share sheet. We do not receive a copy.
You are responsible for any data you choose to export or share with others.
4. In-App Purchases
CashN offers a one-time Pro upgrade through Apple's App Store using StoreKit 2. All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple. We do not collect, process, or store any payment information, credit card details, or billing addresses.
The only purchase-related data stored locally is whether you have unlocked Pro features (a simple yes/no value).
5. Notifications
CashN may request permission to send you local notifications (such as a weekly earnings summary). These notifications are:
- Scheduled and delivered entirely on your device — they do not pass through our servers
- Optional — the App works fully without notification permission
- Controllable — you can manage notification permissions at any time in your device's Settings > Notifications > CashN
We do not use push notifications from a remote server.
6. Third-Party Services
CashN does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or data collection services.
The only Apple platform services used are:

All of these are Apple first-party frameworks. No data is sent to Angelo Montil or any third party.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
Your data remains on your device (and in your iCloud account, if enabled) until you choose to delete it.
You can delete all App data at any time:
- Open CashN > Settings > Data > Clear All Data
- Confirm the deletion (a two-step confirmation is required)
- Optionally export a backup before clearing
You can also delete the App entirely, which removes all locally stored data. To remove iCloud data, disable iCloud sync for CashN before deleting or use Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > Manage Storage.
8. Children's Privacy
CashN is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from children. The App requires no account creation and collects no personal identifiers.
9. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your data:
- All data is stored using Apple's secure on-device storage frameworks
- iCloud data is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple
- The App contains no network code that communicates with external servers
- No API keys, tokens, or credentials are stored in the App
However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We encourage you to protect your device with a passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by an updated “Effective Date” at the top of this document. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
Since CashN does not collect email addresses or contact information, we cannot notify you directly of changes. Updated policies will be available within the App and on our App Store listing.

12. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights including:
- Access: Know what data is stored (all data is visible within the App)
- Deletion: Delete all data via Settings > Data > Clear All Data
- Portability: Export your data as CSV or full backup
- Correction: Edit any shift or profile directly in the App
Because CashN stores data locally on your device and we do not have access to it, you have full control over your data at all times.
